TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - The fourth annual Chicken Coop Tour kicked off Saturday.

Seventeen different coops across Tucson participated, ranging from individual homes to schools. The event is designed to introduce people to the world of urban chicken keeping.

One stop on the tour was Borton Magnet School.

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - Reid Park Zoo's three African lion cubs have been introduced to their father, Shombay, with the entire family making their public debut on Tuesday.

The initial introductions spanned a few days, with Shombay meeting one at a time for a short period each morning. Previously they were separated, but could see each other through a barrier.

City council decides to separate Tucson zoo's elephants

Tucson City Council is moving forward with a plan to relocate one of the elephants from the Reid Park Zoo.

The decision has become controversial. Some are against moving the zoo's older elephant "Connie" to another zoo.

A new exhibit brings changes for the elephants at Reid Park Zoo

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - A new elephant exhibit means big changes for two elephants, Connie and Shaba.  The pair has been together at Reid Park almost 30 years.

"We've learned that housing elephants together in pairs is not necessarily what's best for them.  Elephants, it's very important for them to have a social structure.  For us to be able to do that with these two we've got some great opportunities that have come up," said Reid Park zookeeper Cassie Rogge.

Cooler temperatures invite chance encounters with wildlife

Three lion cubs, Ayotunde, Azizi and Abuto will get to greet Tucsonans beginning today.
