Menlo Pool closing for repair work, but only temporarily

One of the six pools opened with 'Bring back the Splash' funds is closing, but only temporarily.

Menlo Pool will be closing for a week, according to a Tucson Parks and Recreation news release.  There were unexpected plaster cracks that have occurred in the first few weeks of use.

Parks and Recreation will close Menlo pool beginning June 25 to get work crews in to repair the damage.  They anticipate the pool reopening on July 3.

Swim lessons will not be interrupted, lessons that begin on June 19 will be reworked so they finish up before repair work begins.  Residents who use Menlo pool will still have access to other pools in the area.  As an added bonus, due to the pools unexpected closure Menlo pool's summer schedule has been extended until August 5.

This extension is only for Menlo Pool though.
