Donations for Operation ‘Chill-Out’ are needed as temps climb higher

The Salvation Army is low in donations and is asking the community for help.

June 1, kicks off the Salvation Army’s Operation Chill Out, and they are in desperate need of summer survival items.  Each of these items is provided to the homeless in the community during the hottest summer months. 

From June 1 through August 30, the Salvation Army is asking for assistance with donations of unopened bottled water, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, flip flops and white t-shirts.  Any of these items can be dropped off at any Naughton’s store location in Tucson, or at the Salvation Army’s Hospitality House (1021 N. 11th Ave.)

Thanks to the men’s Scottsdale Active 20/30 Club the Phoenix Women’s Board has received grant funds to help the UA Steele Children’s Research Center.  The $10,000 received will help tremendously, allowing PANDA (People Acting Now Discover Answers) to purchase stuffed panda bears for patients.
