Dogtoberfest to benefit Handi-Dogs this weekend | Events
Even dogs can enjoy October with Dogtoberfest happening this weekend.
There will be dogs painting pictures, a radar gun clocking how fast those pups run, as well as a human/dog obstacle course and best costume and tricks in addition to human/dog look-alikes and various other contests.
For the human contingent there will be live music, raffles, vendors and a giant game of Simon Says, as well as food and a beer garden.
Everyone is invited to attend Dogtoberfest, just make sure your canine date is well-mannered and on a leash.
In 2012 more than 700 people and their canines showed up, this year they would love to break that record.
Dogtoberfest is Sunday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with tickets at $5 (dogs and children under the age of 12 accompanied by an adult are free), at St. Gregory School (3231 N. Craycroft Rd. Tucson 85712)
All proceeds from the event go to Handi-Dogs, an organization that trains dogs to assist those with disabilities gain independence, dignity, self-esteem. For more on Handi-Dogs go online to www.Handi-Dogs.org
