HSSA & PACC holding 'back-to-school' adoption specials | Events
Both the Humane Society of Southern Arizona and the Pima Animal Care Center are holding back to school adoption specials.
The Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) is holding their 'back to school' event tomorrow with a ‘late night’ adoption event.
HSSA hours will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on August 2 at their main shelter (3450 N. Kelvin).
There will be a select group of pets (dogs and cats) will have a $0 adoption fee, while all others will have a 50 percent off adoption fee. This half off fee even includes pocket pets!
Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) will be holding their adoption special for the entire month of August.
There will be a $0 adoption fee for all pets, all ages - for teachers, professors, teaching assistants and tutors (a $15 licensing fee, for all altered dogs will still apply).
For other county residents, interested in adopting a pet, a $35 fee (plus the $15 licensing) will apply. Puppies under the age of three months are $85.
PACC faced an overcrowding issue in July and residents answered by adopting more than 1,150 animals in that single month. According to PACC officials the occupancy on July 31 was down to 592 animals (399 dogs and 193 cats).
PACC hours are noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
Why not stop by either location and see if your next furry best friend is waiting for you?
