TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- An ex-Tucson Police officer accused of sexual assault and fraud appeared in Superior Court for a pre-trial hearing today.
The judge scheduled Benjamin Gaballa's trial for April 15.
Gaballa's appearance was only for his sexual assault and abuse charges.
Police say a woman he arrested claims he had inappropriate contact with her.
Gaballa also faces felony fraud charges stemming from a different case.
In that case, investigators say he falsified an official police report, misrepresented facts to his supervisor and mishandled evidence.
TPD officials say he was fired in August after about one year on the job.
