Volunteers needed for Downtown docents program | Community Spirit

The call has gone out - volunteers are needed for the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show coming in February.

The Downtown Tucson Partnership is asking for volunteers to engage with the public during the acclaimed Tucson Gem and Mineral Show from February 2 through 17.

Smiling faces are wanted to represent beautiful Downtown Tucson. Volunteers will act as ambassadors for Downtown by welcoming visitors, assisting the public with information on restaurants, attractions, hotels, parking and more.

Those wishing to volunteer should be somewhat familiar with the Downtown area and also be able to walk Downtown in all weather conditions. There will be trainings provided in January, covering a brief history of both Downtown and the Gem and Mineral Show; as well as information specific to Downtown, like how to get around, where to park, dining, events and how to use the Downtown Tucson website, www.DowntownTucson.org.  Downtown Docent shirts will be provided to volunteer staff as well.
