For the fifth year in a row, Fast Park is hosting their canned food drive in support of National Hunger Action Month. This drive will help support the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
Fast Park, an Ohio based company with locations across the U.S., is collecting not only non-perishable food items, they are going the extra mile and donating a dollar for every pound of non-perishable food donated by customers.
In 2011 Fast Park collected over 3,404 pounds of food to distribute to hungry families. According to Feeding America, one out of six people are struggling with hunger and food banks across the U.S. are struggling to keep up.
“As a company we are always seeking ways to give back to causes in which we believe,” said Melanie Chavez who oversees construction and branding for Fast Park. “Hunger is an epidemic in our communities, and we believe every donation makes a difference. The annual Canned Food Drive brings our employees and customers together to work toward a common goal. Every year I am impressed with the generosity of our customers.”
The drive started on September 3 and is expected to run until September 27. Donations can be dropped off at the local Fast Park & Relax location – 6970 S. Tucson Blvd, Tucson 86756.
