Since 1996, when the program began, Cox Charities has awarded more than $4 million in grants.
Non-profits that have benefitted from the Cox Charities grant money focus on programs that involve science and technology, arts and culture, safe and healthy lifestyles, overcoming disabilities, mentoring, literacy, leadership development, social skills development, and other important areas that benefit Southern Arizona youth.
“Cox Charities is committed more than ever before to supporting our valley’s children by funding youth and education-focused non-profits that provide vital programming,” said Susan Anable, vice president of Public Affairs, Cox Communications, in a recent news release.
Cox employees provide even more assistance by volunteering at many of these non-profits as well. Past grant recipients who have hosted Cox volunteer employees include El Rio Health Center, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson, Youth On their Own, Southern Arizona Children's Advocacy Center and many more.
