17th Street Farmers Market to close permanently at the end of March

For over 20 years the 17th Street Farmers Market has taken place on the loading dock of Tucson Food Services, but at the end of March the market is closing its doors for good.

Tucson Food Service, the parent company of the Farmers Market made this announcement –

“It has been our pleasure and our honor to serve our grocery customers in Tucson for the past 20 years,” said President and CEO Tom Kusian, in a recent news release.  “Our loyal customers have enjoyed our eclectic, sometimes exotic, often surprising inventory and local music and entertainment features over the years, and we want to sincerely thank them for their patronage.”

According to Kusian, Tucson Food Services other divisions (Tucson Party Rentals, Commercial Catering and Grocery Distribution) have continued to grow and require the company’s full attention and resources.

Starting immediately all dry grocery goods will be offered at a 20 percent discount until everything is sold.
