27th Annual Tucson Celtic Festival, Scottish Highland Games | Arts & Culture
The Tucson Celtic Festival and Scottish Highland Games will celebrate its 27th year this November with more merriment and festivities than ever before. Celebrate the heritage and culture of the Celtic Nations, such as Ireland, Scotland and Wales just as it has been done for centuries with great music, athletics, food and fun.
CELTIC PUB NIGHT - November 1, ($5 at the gate): 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Best Legs in a Kilt Contest, Music by The Sullivan’s, Celtic Trivia, Whisky Tasting ($10 per person), Darts, Food Truck Round Up & Much More!
FESTIVAL DAYS - November 2, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; November 3 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
FESTIVAL LOCATION - Rillito Race Track (4502 N. 1st Ave.)
ADMISSION: Adult 16 and older $15 ($13 with a donation to the Community Food Bank); Senior & Military ID $10; Youth (6 – 15) $5; Wee ones (under 6) free with adult admission. Two day adult pass $20; Daily parking $3.
Visitors will enjoy musical performances all throughout the day at two stages, an array of unique Celtic merchants & eateries, Scottish clans, heritage and cultural booths, educational workshops, Highland athletic competitions and more.
A mass Pipe Band will lead the opening ceremony at noon on Saturday. Stop by the dance stage for Irish and Scottish performances. Cheer on your favorites in the Highland Dance and Solo Bagpipe and Drum Competitions!
Children’s activities will include games, jumping castles, storytelling and even a Junior Highland Games! Plenty for the wee ones!
Highland Games Athletic Competitions featuring over 80 professional and amateur athletes in caber toss, weight for height, weight for distance, the Braemar Stone and sheaf toss all day Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday night's concert will feature international musical guest Celtic rock band, “Enter the Haggis” and a Fire Dance performance by Cirque Roots! Other festival performers include STEAM, Out of Kilters, The Big Fellah’s, The Sullivan Band, Celtic Moonshine, Maguire Academy of Irish Dance, Tir Conaill Academy of Irish Dance, Seven Pipers Scottish Society, Tucson & District Pipeband and Scatter the Dust.
