Governor Brewer in Tucson, rallying support for expanding Medicaid

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- In just a few hours, Governor Brewer will be in Tucson, she is in
town rallying support for her plan to expand Medicaid in Arizona.

Governor Brewer will be holding a press conference at Tucson
Medical Center, rallying support for a plan many found as a surprise.

Expanding Medicaid would help bring health care to more of the
poorest people and families in Arizona. Governor Brewer strongly opposed so
called Obamacare, but has since changed her stance on this topic saying a
Medicaid expansion is just a small portion.

That is why she is here, with business leaders, doctors, and
behavioral health experts, saying it won't cost the state any money and will
actually inject $8 billion and create quality jobs.

The state Senate voted in favor of her plan, but the House has
not.

Governor Brewer has said she will veto any legislation on her desk
until there is more progress made.
